A Space Journey Begins…

Fall is coming: my eldest son is returning to school after a summer spent largely at home with me and my youngest, who himself will begin preschool midway through the school year. It’s a good time for a restart for myself as the summer has not included the head space to write. My fold-out desk space in my bedroom could use a revamp and the wall beside it is basically a blank canvas for a gallery wall. I really enjoy updating my spaces as I grow as a person. Change is the only constant in life. I will attempt to post here as I update the space so you can follow along.

Here are the messy before photos of the space:

As you can see, the space is a bit messy. Let’s show that: our mess. Let’s lean away from perfection. Once I re-do this space, mess will return one day. And I will tidy and mess will come, over and over. Chores: the perpetual motion machine men who don’t have to do chores have been looking for these past centuries. Also note that yes, that is my bed, and what you don’t see on the other side of the long but narrow room is our closet and my toddler’s bed, with his dresser up against the window. The other end is laundry and a bathroom. We don’t all have our own offices with doors to close behind us. I am fortunate to have this space as many writers and creatives have even less.

Let’s show our messy, cramped, modern reality.
